Meet The Bond Street Languages Team
Every member of the BSL teaching team has academic qualifications in linguistics, as well as university-level teaching qualifications. They're also all passionate, patient and (pleasantly) persistent. They''ll get you where you want to go.
You can read more about the team and what they've been up to on our blog.
Ana Herrera
Spanish
A qualified and passionate teacher and skilled linguist (fluent in four languages, no less!), Ana founded Bond Street Languages in 1994. Her mission: to make it easier for others to learn languages than it had been for her. Over the last twenty years, Ana has built a skilled team and developed a proven teaching method which has changed the lives of thousands of clients.
Mireille
French
Mireille grew up in the South of France, where she studied modern languages and teaching French as a foreign language, before moving to the UK. She has also lived in Brussels and South Africa where she taught in a leading private school.
She finds teaching one-to-one particularly rewarding and enjoys using creative and individualised techniques to meet the needs of each client.
Max
French & Spanish
A devoted and passionate teacher, Max is fluent in three languages and intermediate in three more. He has worked as a French and Spanish teacher since 2011 when he started his career in L’Alliance Française in Mexico. Further on he explored his passion for teaching languages in Thailand, South Korea, and London.
Having been a language student himself several times, Max puts himself in his client's shoes and tailors lessons according to their profiles and objectives. He believes in full immersion being the most effective way to learn. Speaking, feeling, and living the language is the fastest and most fun route to fluency!
Federica
Italian
When she moved to London from Italy a few years ago, Federica discovered the wonderful world of teaching Italian to none-native speakers, and gained a certificate in teaching Italian as a foreign language from the Italian Cultural Institute. She also holds an MA in Theatre from the University of Essex. In fact, her background in theatre, alongside her working and travelling experience, gave her the chance to make contact with people from different cultures and backgrounds, which contributed to her passion for teaching languages.
Mélanie
French
Mélanie grew up in Toulouse, south of France and started tutoring children and adults 20 years ago, when living in Vienna, Austria.
She is fluent in three languages and she knows very well what a great, yet intimidating and sometimes frustrating process learning a foreign language can be.
Mélanie was thrilled to be introduced to the technique developed by Ana Herrera and finds it the perfect tool for tailor-made sessions; a fun, but also rigorous and efficient way to learn French.
Alejandro
Spanish
Alejandro has been teaching languages since graduating in 2003: first at a prestigious bilingual school in Spain then in London, at schools in Dulwich, and Clapham Old Town. He is passionate about teaching, and enjoys the luxury of working with clients one-to-one: responding to unique needs and adapting learning activities to each client’s personality, mental processes, interests, and pace.
Rachel
Russian
Rachel has been teaching languages for over 8 years now (English, Ukrainian, and Russian). With experience teaching at a university in Rome, a degree in English and German Philology, and a CELTA qualification, she is passionate and knowledgeable.
Rachel's goals are to create the right environment, to motivate the student, and to achieve results. "Speaking, feeling, learning and the right energy—that's all we need."

She graduated in foreign languages and journalism at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan and has since combined her passions as professional journalist, PR-communication's consultant and as native speaking Italian language and culture teacher for over 15 years. She aims to empower her students to express themselves and to share with them the culture, traditions and history of her country – focussing on the sorts of things you wont find in text books.
Oksana

Over the course of her career, Oksana has guided scores of people on the path to speaking Russian, with students ranging from complete beginnings to PhD candidates. A graduate of both the Altai State Pedagogical University Department of Philology and Moscow State University, she enjoys working with both children and adults and tailors her lessons to their needs – whether learning a language for pleasure, for exams, or for business.
